Golfing is incredibly fun and a great activity for your body. However, like any sport, it’s important that you still take care of your body in the process. A few ways you can accomplish this is by stretching and staying hydrated to avoid injuries. Below, you can find out some of the best ways to stay hydrated on the golf course.

Drink Lots of Water

The most obvious thing you can do to stay hydrated during a golf outing is to drink lots of water. Drinking water is essential for any athlete to perform at their best, so it’s crucial to encourage them to stay hydrated. Try to drink water the night before a golf outing, before tee time in the morning, during the outing, and afterward. We recommend that you have a water bottle handy in your golf bag, so you don’t forget to hydrate.

Bring Healthy Snacks

Another thing you should have in one of the many compartments in your golf bag is some healthy snacks. Fueling up throughout your golfing session will keep your energy levels high. The key is to consume water-rich foods such as fruits and veggies. Strawberries, oranges, celery, and baby carrots are popular options. Just be sure you don’t make too much noise while eating—especially when someone else on the course is up.

Use Cold Towels

Instead of baking in the hot summer sun, we recommend that you bring a nice cold towel with you. To ensure it remains nice and cold, consider bringing an ice cooler on the golf cart so you can keep water and towels cool. By placing a towel that has been sitting in ice water around your neck, it can instantly make you feel cool and hydrated.

Limit Alcoholic Beverages

The final way to stay hydrated on the golf course is to limit how much alcohol you consume. While it’s always fun to have some alcoholic beverages while golfing with friends, this can severely dehydrate you. Try to drink no more than one alcoholic drink per round. Further, don’t forget to drink water in between as well so you don’t end up feeling sick later on in the day.
